Retirement.

Nothing like it. You’ve finally got the car, you’ve got the money, and you’ve got the buddy. To go explore the wild world. On your own terms, in your own timeline, to do whatever you want. Of course, so many choices can be truly daunting. And the number of hucksters and charlatans you were likely to meet along the way can be astonishing. But with a good map, and a keen sense of direction, you can find your way. Most of the time. Probably. But will you? How do you know?

A Good Map.

There’s nothing like a good map to keep you on track. It doesn’t mean that you have to stick only to the map. There’s nothing wrong with running off in one direction or another, every now and again, to explore something interesting that you saw from the road. But, exploring those something interesting’s shouldn’t put the rest of your trip at risk. Those tangents are what make it life worth living. Still, it’s good to know your way back to the main road and the rest of your trip. But if you want to stay longer? Can you?

A Great Guide.

Nothing beats the power of experience, and education, and credentials, and the fiduciary duty to act in your best interest. Think of retirement as a long road trip, across dozens of states, and countries, with different languages in customs, regulations, and wise or foolish choices to be made all along the way. Before embarking on such an epic adventure, chances are you would do some significant planning. When you reach the limits of your own research and expertise, you would like to hire a guide who knew the area, who had done it before, and who had helped hundreds of others do exactly what you wanted to
